big news!

I know it has been far to long since i have updated! I have a good excuse though (i think?)- I've be distracted by being pregnant!

My husband and i are expecting our first on or around February 28th! So that puts me at 16 weeks tomorrow. So far everything has gone great. I was pretty run down per usual from about 7 to 12 weeks but now i have my old energy back. Unfortunately for some reason my creativity got zapped out of me so i haven't made any new prints :/

So I've got baby bump and serious baby on the brain! I've managed not to go crazy with the spending though which is good as i understand when some ladies find out they are expecting they go overboard with buying things. So far for baby i have purchased two really great things from etsy that i wanted to share!

To celebrate the end of my first trimester i bought these really adorable blocks from MoreCookiesPlease:

They have taggies on them and bells inside so they are quite exciting I'm sure for a little person. When my sister saw them she said our sprout was going to be a total geek. Which she is right. I mean my husband has been threatening to name it 'Starbuck'. It doesn't get more nerdy then that people!

And as a second item that i just received i got these neat little sensory toys from
The Spotted Elephant Boutique:

They have this crinkly material sewn inside to make crackling noises which babies seem to be fascinated with.

As you can see i chose the planet one to match with the blocks which was pretty convenient. And i had seen this really nice spotted owl print fabric in other shops as well and now that i have seen it up close and personal i know just how prefect it is. I'm going to be on the hunt for other things with the spotted owl print now...

The Donots

My husband is learning to play this song on drums. I love it when he plays because it makes me think of the video! Puppies!

I've been away! but i am back! We spend a nice long weekend in Bar Harbor just my husband and I. It was great except that the rain just barely let up at all. We have had rain for over 3 weeks now and everyone is just so depressed because of it!

I tagged this lil hat in my favotires on etsy the other day. so cute.

lil self promo

you wants your cute? i gots your cute :) ok so it is a little shameless self promotion and also some laziness. But it is cute! This is my latest print that i just uploaded to my etsy shop.

Today is a rather gloomy outside. I actually bought myself a bright red rain coat so that i wouldn't feel so bad about all the rain that is expected for the next few days. I don't mind so much if it rains now so long as it stops for next weekend since we are going to Bar Harbor and i NEED some of the sunshine you see in the photo to your left!

Naturally Cute: Wooden toys on etsy!

I've been admiring woman woodworker's shop for several months now. I have yet to make a purchase from her but there is no doubt i will very soon. I am in love with this wooden bunny to your left. It was actually my husband that helped me find her shop. We were in a museam gift shop several months ago and there was a ity bitty wooden bunny for 40$. We thought the bun was precious but were quite sticker shocked. The first thing that popped into my head was "I bet someone makes a cutter version on etsy for less money" and sure enough, it's true!
In her shop she also has really intricate wooden trains, trucks, an elephant (almost as cute as the bunny) and rattles. Thankfully she doesn't put any finish on them so they are intended for little people to play with without chance of any toxic exposure. I love them! Check out her shop here.
